Tree Trunk Butterfly Birthday Cake

My good friend wanted to get a special cake made for her parents who's birthday's are on the same day (how cool?). They love working on their garden together and love nature. I created a cake that looks like a tree trunk with their initials engraved in the front. It is decorated with blue and white flowers and green leaves, little ladybugs and two butterflies. The two butterflies are printed on wafer paper. The cake is my delicious chocolate cake with my white buttercream. It is covered with chocolate fondant and the trunk details are hand painted. I heard back from my friend that they all loved the cake and couldn't stop taking pictures of it before they cut into it! Their birthday is today! Happy Birthday T&D!!
